Canadian rapper Drake lost a 1.5 million tether (USDT) wager on Argentina after Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup final 1-0 on Sunday. The bet, placed through crypto casino Stake at +245 odds, required Argentina to win in regulation time. Spain’s extra-time victory meant the wager was lost, adding another chapter to a high-profile betting saga that has cost the artist millions.

The wager was structured so that Drake would only collect if Argentina triumphed within 90 minutes plus stoppage time. A win would have returned a total payout of $5,175,000, yielding a profit of $3,675,000. Instead, Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, sealing Spain’s second World Cup title and leaving Drake empty-handed.

Spain dominated the match, taking the first 20 shots on goal and forcing Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez into a World Cup final-record 12 saves. Argentina did not register their first shot until the 117th minute. The defending champions were further hampered when midfielder Enzo Fernández received a second yellow card in second-half stoppage time, reducing them to 10 men before extra time.
