Ethereum traded at $1,871.80 with 24-hour volume of $7.7 billion and market capitalization of $225.84 billion as of August 10, 2026. Ethereum spot ETFs recorded a net inflow of $245 million for the week ended August 7, marking five consecutive weeks of inflows. Fidelity's FETH saw a weekly net inflow of $24.15 million and total historical net inflows of $2.12 billion, while BlackRock's ETHA led with $203 million weekly and $11.65 billion historical.

A draft Ethereum Improvement Proposal, EIP-8361, proposes a "Tapered Issuance Burn" that would progressively reduce and eventually eliminate consensus-layer staking rewards once roughly half of all ETH is staked. At current levels, approximately 33-34% of ETH supply is staked, generating consensus yields near 2.6%. The proposal remains in draft status and faces significant community debate.

What to Watch

With custodial infrastructure expanding and staking mechanics now operational across multiple funds, the question becomes whether Fidelity's program can offset the NAV erosion that has cut the fund's assets by nearly two-thirds in six months.
