Harvard University's endowment left its BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) position unchanged during the second quarter of 2026, holding 3.04 million shares after a 43% reduction in the prior quarter brought the stake down to roughly $117 million.

The pause follows a first-quarter filing in which Harvard Management Company trimmed its IBIT holdings from 5.35 million shares and fully liquidated an $87 million position in BlackRock's spot Ethereum ETF (ETHA) that had been established only one quarter earlier.

While Harvard stood still, two Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth funds — Mubadala Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) — also kept their combined 22.94 million IBIT shares unchanged through June 30. The share-count stability masked a sharp mark-to-market decline: their combined position fell from about $881.4 million at the end of March to $764 million by quarter-end, a paper loss of roughly $118 million driven entirely by the drop in IBIT's price.

Mubadala held 14,721,917 shares valued at $490.1 million on June 30, making IBIT its second-largest reported holding within a $34.8 billion 13F portfolio. ADIC held 8,218,712 shares worth about $273.6 million, representing more than 33% of its disclosed U.S.-listed portfolio. Both funds had increased their stakes in the first quarter; Mubadala added roughly 16% to reach 14.7 million shares, extending a streak of five consecutive quarters of accumulation.
