Live Nation Entertainment drew 49 million fans in the second quarter of 2026, a 10% increase that marked the highest second-quarter attendance on record. Concert revenue climbed 8% to $6.4 billion, helping push total revenue up 9% to roughly $7.7 billion. Net income for the quarter reached $294.45 million, compared with $243.41 million a year earlier, even as the company posted a first-half net loss of $94.66 million.
The attendance surge coincides with a roughly $4 billion infrastructure push into stadium-scale touring, venue upgrades, and technology. Internal projections cited by people familiar with the planning suggest the stadium division alone could gross over $6.2 billion in 2026, up from $4.8 billion in 2023. At the same time, adjusted operating income fell 14% to $310 million, pressured by the timing of stadium shows, venue pre-opening costs, and new international festival ventures.
Against that backdrop, the company's general counsel saw restricted stock vest, while President and CEO Michael Rapino had 16,251 shares withheld at a reference price of $181.77 to cover tax obligations on vesting restricted stock grants. The withholding was a non-discretionary tax event, not an open-market sale. After the transaction, Rapino directly holds 4,188,167 shares, a stake valued at approximately $761 million at the August 6 close.
