Sampo plc repurchased 968,363 of its own A shares during week 29, extending a capital-return programme that has now accumulated over 16 million treasury shares since its launch in early May 2026. The disclosure, published on 20 July 2026, confirms the Nordic insurer is methodically working through the €350 million buyback authorisation granted by shareholders at the April 2026 annual general meeting.

The programme began on 7 May 2026 and is conducted under the EU Market Abuse Regulation and the Commission Delegated Regulation 2016/1052. By the close of week 28, Sampo held 16,135,508 of its own A shares, equivalent to 0.61 per cent of the total share base. The week 29 purchases add to that tally, though the company has not yet disclosed the updated treasury share count or the average price paid for the latest block.

Context from earlier weeks shows a consistent execution pattern. During week 28, Sampo acquired 35,203 shares at a volume-weighted average price of €9.32 across the CEUX, TQEX, and XHEL venues. The week 27 programme saw 151,313 shares repurchased, while the week spanning 29 June to 3 July concentrated most activity on a single day, with an average price of approximately €145.30–€145.32 per share. The wide gap between those per-share figures reflects a share split or reorganisation that occurred between the two periods, though the company has not detailed the adjustment in its buyback notices.
