Strategy sold $334 million of its Class A common stock under an at-the-market program during the latest reporting period, adding the proceeds to a USD reserve that now stands at $4.8 billion. The company made no bitcoin purchases or sales in the same window, leaving its treasury at 840,447 BTC — roughly 4% of the 21 million supply cap and valued at approximately $53.4 billion at current prices.
The move continues a pattern of raising fiat liquidity through equity issuance rather than monetizing the bitcoin stack. In the prior week, August 3–9, Strategy sold 6.59 million MSTR shares for $653.1 million in net proceeds, directing $650 million to the USD reserve and $3.1 million to cash. At the same time, it sold 1,690 BTC for $108.6 million at an average price of $64,262 — well below its aggregate cost basis of $75,385 per coin — and used every dollar of those proceeds to repurchase 1,152,020 shares of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock (STRC).
That prior bitcoin sale reduced holdings from 842,138 BTC to 840,447 BTC and marked the fourth disclosed disposal of 2026, bringing cumulative sales for the year to 6,948 BTC. The company has not bought bitcoin since June. Its average acquisition cost across the full position remains $63.36 billion, implying an unrealized loss of roughly $10 billion at current spot levels near $63,500.
