Strive Inc. disclosed on Aug. 17 that it purchased 79 bitcoin between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14 at an average price of $63,231 per coin, inclusive of fees and expenses. The roughly $5 million outlay lifted the Dallas-based asset manager's holdings to 20,246 BTC as of Aug. 14, up from 20,167 a week earlier.
The purchase was detailed in an 8-K filing that also showed cash and cash equivalents of $154.8 million as of Aug. 14, essentially unchanged from $154.9 million a week prior. Strive also holds 505,000 shares of Strategy's Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, with a fair value of $47.864 million.
Class A common shares outstanding rose to 76,244,588 from 75,647,438, increasing effective common shares outstanding to 86,037,123. The filing notes the share-count increase includes shares sold through 4 p.m. for next-day issuance, so the full dilution effect is not yet confirmed. Assumed fully diluted shares stood at 89,302,926, excluding 26,596,010 shares underlying traditional warrants.
Strive's accumulation strategy traces back to its September 2025 merger with Semler Scientific, which added thousands of bitcoin and shifted the firm to a bitcoin-treasury model financed through cash, equity issuances, and preferred products. CEO Matt Cole has outlined plans to expand both the ASST and SATA at-the-market programs by $2.1 billion each, targeting up to $4.2 billion in additional capital-raising capacity for further bitcoin purchases.
