Telemundo has acquired the exclusive Spanish-language broadcast rights in the United States for all UEFA men’s club competitions for three seasons, beginning with the 2027-28 campaign. The announcement landed on July 19, 2026, just hours before the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, a timing that underscores the network’s ambition to convert tournament momentum into a durable club-soccer franchise.
The package spans the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup, and Youth League. Every match will be shown live across the Telemundo network, Universo, Peacock, and the free ad-supported channel Telemundo Deportes Ahora. The deal ends the previous Spanish-language hold of TelevisaUnivision, which had aired the competitions on TUDN and ViX.
NBCUniversal executives framed the acquisition as a natural extension of the record audiences Telemundo delivered during the 2026 World Cup. Through the semifinals, the network’s coverage averaged a total audience of 6 million viewers. Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, called the Champions League “the pinnacle of club soccer tournaments” and said Telemundo’s “deep connection with soccer audiences make it an outstanding home.” UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin added that the partnership would “bring the drama, excitement and excellence of European football to millions of viewers over the next cycle.”
