Trump Media & Technology Group transferred 2,628 bitcoin worth roughly $165 million to Crypto.com on August 2, the third such move to the exchange in nine months. The company said the transfer was not a sale but part of a broader trading strategy, echoing language it used after a similar deposit in May.
On-chain analysts at Lookonchain and Arkham Intelligence flagged the transaction, which reduced the balance in tracked wallets to about 4,261 BTC. The same wallets held roughly 6,889 BTC after the May transfer of 2,650 BTC, valued then at about $205 million. In December 2025, the company moved 2,000 BTC to Crypto.com when bitcoin traded near $87,378, a move analysts at the time described as a custody reshuffle.
The August transfer occurred with bitcoin near $63,000, well below the average acquisition price of roughly $118,522 that Trump Media disclosed for its original 11,542 BTC position. A March 31 filing showed 9,542.16 BTC carried at a $1.131 billion cost basis and a $647.1 million fair value, implying unrealized losses of roughly $484 million at that date. Lookonchain estimates combined realized and unrealized losses at $555 million across seven months of transfers.
