A lawsuit now challenges Truth Social's plan to sell early access to President Donald Trump's market-moving posts, turning a commercial data product into a legal test of how presidential communication can be monetized.
The suit targets the Truth API subscription service, which Trump Media & Technology Group launched on August 1, 2026. The product gives paying institutions faster access to posts from certain high-profile Truth Social accounts, including Trump's. Reported pricing runs between $60,000 and $100,000 per month, with a discounted $60,000 rate available to firms committing to a three-year plan.
Trump Media announced the service on July 16, describing it as the company's first product built for recurring revenue. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the feed would provide licensed, low-latency access to publicly available posts from top accounts. The company onboarded institutional customers before the launch date and has since signed more than ten customer agreements.
The commercial logic is straightforward. Trump frequently uses Truth Social to announce policy changes, personnel moves, tariffs, and foreign policy decisions. Those posts can move markets within seconds. A feed that delivers those posts milliseconds before the general public gives high-frequency trading firms a measurable speed advantage.
